Portable soldering fume extractor with 3D-printed design

Project Description

The Fume Extractor for soldering is a portable and wireless extraction unit, developed for hobbyists and small workspaces. It removes flux and soldering fumes directly at the source via an axial fan and replaceable carbon filter.

The housing was fully designed in SolidWorks and manufactured via 3D-printing. The device is powered by an internal Li-Ion battery and can therefore be deployed anywhere, without power cord or installation. Compact dimensions ensure minimal disruption on the workbench.

The project shows how smart integration of airflow design, product development and rapid prototyping can lead to a functional, safe and accessible solution for makers and electronics hobbyists.
