CarryVision – Plant Camera System

Timelapse and monitoring for nurseries, built with ESP32 cameras and a Raspberry Pi.

CarryVision is a complete plant camera system commissioned by CarryFlor. It tracks plant growth over time through automated captures and timelapse video — all accessible from a dedicated dashboard, on-site and over the internet.

The system comprises two custom camera modules in 3D-printed enclosures, each built around ESP32-CAM. The cameras shoot on fixed intervals and send images wirelessly over WiFi to a Raspberry Pi 5 that acts as local server and dashboard host.

The web dashboard lets users view live feeds, browse photo history, and generate timelapse clips for any selected range in a few clicks. Multi-user accounts, per-camera schedules, and image rotation support flexible mounting.

IMeTech covered the full lifecycle: electronics and firmware, printed housings, server-side software, and end-user documentation. The system was delivered plug-and-play — ready after connecting to the network.

Who is this for?

CarryVision is a good fit for nurseries and other growers who want to see how their plants develop over time without needing someone on site constantly to check. It also suits businesses that want to keep an eye on a process remotely — for example to assess growing conditions, show clients or investors how a crop is progressing, or simply capture the result. Anyone looking for a ready-made, plug-and-play camera system rather than separate components will find a complete example here.

What makes it special?

What stands out about CarryVision is that everything is purpose-built, from the custom camera modules to the 3D-printed housings around them. The cameras work independently: they shoot on fixed intervals and send images wirelessly to their own local server, without relying on an external service. From the dashboard, a timelapse covering exactly the period you want to see is a few clicks away, and adjustable schedules and image rotation mean the system works across multiple cameras and mounting setups at once.
