POC Proximity Chat
Advanced Ultra-Wideband (UWB) communication system for proximity-aware group interaction.
The POC Proximity Chat project was developed as a technical proof-of-concept for high-precision interactive communication systems. Utilizing Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology via Qorvo DW3000 modules, the system enables sub-decimeter distance measurement between mobile participants, translating physical proximity into dynamic digital interaction.
The architecture consists of multiple portable ESP32-UWB units communicating with a central Raspberry Pi hub. The hub processes real-time distance data and serves a professional web interface that visualizes spatial relationships and connection status across the network. This setup was optimized for large-scale SLVN Events, demonstrating the potential for seamless, location-aware audio and social experiences.
This feasibility study proves the viability of high-accuracy spatial awareness in dense environments, combining real-time communication protocols with distributed embedded systems.
