PCB Design Thermal Management HMI Design Embedded Control

The Multifunctional Soldering Station integrates a high-reliability soldering iron and a hot air rework tool into a single ergonomic workspace. Both channels are independently managed by a custom-designed control system, featuring a high-contrast digital interface for temperature and airflow calibration.

The core electronics consist of a complex custom PCB developed in KiCad, running specialized firmware that provides real-time thermal feedback and safety shutdowns. The case design, created in SolidWorks, utilizes a professional mix of high-heat-resistant 3D-printed internals and natural wood accents for a premium workbench look.

Optimized for precision PCB assembly and high-level prototype repair, this station provides industrial-grade performance in a compact, locally-developed package.

Who is this for?

This soldering station is a good fit for hobbyists, makers, and engineers who solder and repair electronics regularly and are tired of juggling separate tools on the bench that don't quite work together. It's a great example for anyone looking for one station where the iron and hot air tool cooperate cleanly, with clear temperature control instead of guesswork. It's also a good showcase if you're curious how you could develop a piece of professional workbench equipment yourself, from the electronics through to the housing.

What makes it special?

What makes this station special is that two normally separate tools, the soldering iron and the hot air rework tool, come together in one system with shared, precise temperature control. Custom-built electronics and firmware provide real-time feedback and shut down safely on their own when needed, rather than relying on off-the-shelf parts. The housing pairs heat-resistant 3D-printed internals with natural wood accents, giving the station a look that's as considered as its performance, in a size that fits any workshop.
